Softer, more flexible material that expands after being applied making it an ideal choice for harder to reach nooks and crannies. The smaller cells lets air and moisture move through, in other words it is "breathable" for structures and works to keep the air indoors clean. It is perfect for places that require air-flow such as attics and walls. On average Open Cell foam has a density of about .5 pounds per cubic foot and an R Value of 3.5 per inch. This foam is excellent for soundproofing (it successfully absorbs sound) and filling in areas between studs or in walls/floors while allowing proper ventilation.
